The greatest drawback of the Gen 4 Recoil System is the inability to change spring weights easily to fine tune the handgun.  Moreover, when the springs wear out, a costly recoil unit must be bought rather than just a spring.  Our package solves both those issues.  The kit includes our guide rod, a ring unit to fit into the Gen 4 slide, and a recoil spring. 

Our guide rod was developed to enhance the reliability and durability of the Glock system under the worst conditions. Our guide rod provides faster shot to shot recovery and smoother slide cycling than is possible with the OEM guide rods.  Accuracy with the Glock system is greatly affected by the tightness in lock up. I experimented some time ago and found that even a match barrel would yield lack luster results if the slide did not lock up like a swiss safe. Moreover, the polymer factory guide rod is often not straight, leading to inconsistent tracking of the slide. The solution is a super stiff steel guide rod. With the springs we use (consistent weight), lock up tightness is increased and that is a good thing.

These guide rods are made from 4140 hardened steel with a Melonite finish. The end result is a very tough recoil guide rod with a black finish, and with corrosion resistance equal to the pistol. To further increase ultimate reliability, these guide rods are designed as uncaptured units for better reliability over captured guide rods. Perfect with any quality spring such as ISMI or Wolff.

This construction and finish also offers a lubricity and smoothness of operation not evident in the OEM spring unit, or aftermarket stainless guide rods.
